Your wedding day is one of unity, and for many couples, that includes their pets. Many household pets are considered a hugely important part of the family, and including them on your wedding day can make it even more memorable for you and your guests.
If you're fortunate to have a well-behaved dog, the idea of them being your ring bearer is charming. However, it's really important to fully understand your dog's temperament and realistically predict how they react to different situations, especially with the excitement of many people and music.
If having your pet as part of the bridal party seems risky, there are still ways to include them in your special day. You can feature them in your engagement and wedding photos, capturing heartwarming moments. Just ensure that their presence is welcome and that they'll be in a safe, secure, pet-friendly environment. If you decide they shouldn't be present on the day, mentioning them in your vows is another touching way to acknowledge their importance.
Generally, we recommend a similar approach to how you would manage very young children. Assign a dedicated carer to ensure they are supervised and comfortable, and if they show even the slightest signs of discontent, allow this carer to take them home immediately.
